Where EDUCATION makes the difference.
Many of you may have seen this statement on various flyers, brochures, or have even heard one of our stylists mention it.
What does it really mean?
Illusions is not a school, but we are continuing to educate ourselves.
The beauty industry is constantly updating and changing techniques, styles and options that you have for your hair. We at Illusions, believe it is a valuable tool to educate our stylists and our clients of these changes.
Every Tuesday, we open at 12:00 noon. Our team spends that morning before we open our doors, in meetings and in classes (educating, learning and sharing) in cutting, coloring, perming, and customer service skills as a group. Our stylists are learning the latest techniques through top industry educators including "Pivot Point International".
Education through in-salon classes?
Twice a year, we close the salon for an "All-day Educational Event". We then spend 8 hours or more in classes. We use that day for more in-depth training that requires more than our weekly classes.
We spend our morning by completing a series of technical skills devoted to cutting, coloring, or perming. Our afternoon is spent in discussion classes where we work on non-technical skills, such as customer service skills and other salon business.
Is that what the manequin heads you sometimes see in the windows are used for?...YES!
We start with long-haired manequins. By the time we have completed a series in cutting, coloring and perming techniques during our educational classes, the manequins have "crew-cut" like styles and it is time for us to supply new ones for our next series of classes.
Whenever we have our education time, you can be assured that we are using it to educate each other as best that we can in order to provide you with the best service possible. We take pride in our salon...Where education makes a difference!
