COVID-19: SALON PROTOCOLS***

1/10/22: 5-layer N95/KN95  MASKS REQUIRED FOR ENTRY.

Due to enhanced safety/sanitization protocols for salon/barber shops to re-open after the state mandated closure on March 16, 2020, we have put the following required policies in place. We are doing so in order to provide the safest possible environment for our clients and staff. PLEASE READ IT CAREFULLY. The following contains the most up to date information as of  2/22/2022, and may change depending on various county/state information. Our entire staff has been fully vaccinated since our demographic was eligible, in Spring 2021.

For those traveling from outside of West Seattle, remember to give yourself extra time since the WEST SEATTLE BRIDGE is CLOSED.  *PLEASE NOTE:  YOU MUST COMPLETE & SUBMIT THE WAIVER AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE PRIOR TO CALLING TO SCHEDULE YOUR  APPOINTMENT. If you have already submitted a waiver, you do not need to submit for each appointment. At each appointment, we do ask that you continue to adhere to all other safety protocols listed below, and if you would answer any of the waiver questions differently to please let us know.

ALL WHO ENTER NEED PROOF OF A COVID-19 VACCINATION. IF YOU HAVE NOT BEEN VACCINATED, YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ENTER.

5-Layer N95/KN95 MASKS WILL REMAIN MANDATORY FOR ALL UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

IF YOU ARE SICK:

If you are showing or feeling sick from ANY illness, please STAY HOME. When possible, please try to give as much notice in cancelling your appointment(s), but please know if you are displaying ANY symptoms, you will not be allowed entry, and will not be allowed to return until you are symptom free. You can find more information relating to the COVID-19 virus, including symptoms, HEREFor quarantine guidelines, please visit the CDC website HERE. Should you get sick/show symptoms of ANY illness while you are in the salon, you will be asked to leave immediately.

WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING ANY NEW CLIENTS AT THIS TIME.

"Walk-In" appointments of ANY kind are not available.

APPOINTMENT 

SCHEDULING:

***YOU MUST SUBMIT YOUR COVID-19 WAIVER PRIOR TO CALLING TO SCHEDULE YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT. If you have previously filled one out, we have it on file, and ask that you continue to monitor your health, and NOT schedule an appointment if you would answer your original waiver questions differently, or feel unwell for ANY other reasons*** 

Beginning Monday October 4th, Illusions will be requiring that ALL clients who enter be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. There are no exemptions or exceptions. ALL CLIENTS MUST PRESENT A VALID COVID VACCINATION CARD, (the card itself, a photo copy of it, or a photo of it on your phone), showing that you have received all current doses of the vaccine in order to enter. Your final dose noted on your card must be at least 14 days prior to your visit. We will NOT keep any of your personal information that is on your card. (PLEASE DO NOT SEND US YOUR CARD OR A COPY OF IT). It MUST BE PRESENTED AT THE DOOR BY EACH CLIENT at your appointment.  Once we have verified your card, you will not need to bring it or show it again for future visits (unless we alter our requirements for BOOSTER vaccination proof at a later date).  Any person accompanying a client must also show their valid vaccination card for entry.

 

<<With vaccinations now available for kids 5-11, they will be allowed in the salon beginning 2 weeks after their second vaccination dose. A parent or guardian will be required to show their valid card and their child's valid vaccination card for entry. Facial masks continue to be required.>>


If you have a scheduled appointment ON OR AFTER OCTOBER 4th... PLEASE BE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR CARD or A PHOTO OF IT ON YOUR PHONE BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE HOUSE! If you cannot present us a valid card, you will not be able to enter. We cannot make accommodations for you to locate your card if it is anywhere other than on your person or on your phone upon your arrival.  We cannot make adjustments to your time slot for that day if you do not have your card. We will cancel your appointment, and we will be charging a $25 NO VACCINE CARD PRESENT FEE that you will have to pay before you can book another appointment. NO EXCEPTIONS.

We will NOT accept any false or fake card information. If you have not been vaccinated, you will not be allowed to enter. By misrepresenting yourself as vaccinated when entering schools, mass transit, workplaces, gyms, or places of worship, you put yourself and others around you at risk of contracting COVID-19. Additionally, the unauthorized use of an official government agency's seal (such as HHS or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)) is a crime, and may be punishable under Title 18 United States Code, Section 1017, and other applicable laws.


If you cannot keep an upcoming appointment due to this new protocol, please call us ASAP to let us know that we can cancel your appointment and open it up for another client. 


Our FULLY-VACCINATED staff appreciates your understanding that we are requiring vaccinations for all who enter in order to continue to do what we can to protect us, you, and our community.

When you arrive for your scheduled appointment, we ask that you remain outside or in your vehicle. CALL us to let us know you have arrived. We will let you know when to come to the door.

Beginning MONDAY JAN 10 2022- ALL of our stylists and ALL clients will be required to wear US approved 5-layer N95 or KN95 MASKS in the salon until further notice. (EAR WRAP style, NOT the ones that band around the head.)

We kindly ask you provide your own; however, if you do not have an N95/KN95 mask, we will have a limited supply for you. They will be for sale in the salon for $1 (limit ONE per client per visit), and we will add it to your service bill.

CAPACITY:

Our lobby will NOT be used for extended waiting times before or after any appointment. We ask that you leave the salon once your service transaction at the front desk has been completed. Our lobby will remain CLOSED to those without appointments, be clear of ALL reading materials, and we will NOT be offering any refreshments. 

SERVICE RESTRICTIONS:

•  NO BLOW DRY STYLING.  HOOD DRYERS may be used as a replacement for some service finishing. Please inquire with your stylist for availability.

• Corrective Colors, Bleach & Tone, FULL FOIL or FOIL+, etc., services are being scheduled on a case-by-case basis. *Please note that we acknowledge that with some color/bleaching services, a "quick" dry may be needed prior to an added toner service (as per our color line instructions for application), and we will limit these services based on salon capacity and time of the appointment in the salon. We may require a deposit, prior to booking. (Deposit based on type of service(s) required.) Unsure of what color service you need? Call us and we can chat about it over the phone.

ADVANCED

BOOKINGS:

You may schedule your appointments up to 8 weeks from todays date.  As licensed professionals, our team MUST adhere to any rules/regulations from the state, and we are monitoring and making adjustments to current protocols as needed. Should anything MAJOR change in our scheduling procedures, we will notify clients via an E-Mail or posts on social media. We will also alter our 24hr phone line message for those without computer access. 

HAND WASHING:

Immediately upon entry, ALL clients will be REQUIRED to wash their hands with soap & warm water for more than 20 seconds, or use hand sanitizer before their stylist takes them to a station for their service(s).  We will provide hand sanitizers located throughout the salon, but HAND WASHING is recommended when at all possible.

MASK POLICY:

Beginning MONDAY JAN 10 2022- ALL of our stylists and ALL clients will be required to wear US approved 5-layer N95 or KN95 MASKS in the salon until further notice. (EAR WRAP style, NOT the ones that band around the head.) We cannot perform hair services with the head wrap style masks.

We kindly ask you provide your own; however, if you do not have an N95/KN95 mask, we will have a limited supply for you. They will be for sale in the salon for $1 (limit ONE per client per visit), and we will add it to your service bill.

WHILE AT THE

SHAMPOO BOWL:

Masks must be worn at all times. We ask that you keep conversations to a minimum while at the shampoo bowl, as it is the one time you will be face to face with your stylist. 

PAYMENTS:

To reduce the handling of cash, ONLY CHECKS OR DEBIT/CREDIT CARDS will be accepted. NO CASH, PLEASE. When using a credit card, please know that no signature will be required for you purchase. You will not be asked to sign a receipt slip. For a truly "contactless" form of payment, we suggest using "VISA PAY" or "APPLE PAY" or "TAP-TO-PAY" upon checkout. Please refer to your cell phone device for how to install and use these forms of payment, or your bank to see if your card has the appropriate chip embedded within it.

As a licensed personal service business, we are required to maintain a high standard of safety protocols for ALL who enter.  We continue to follow regulations from the state, county, DOH, CDC, and also from the DOL. Our protocols are followed for EVERYONE'S safety, and we appreciate your understanding & cooperation.

Illusions Waiver to BOOK an appointment:
I have read, understand, and will comply to all of the personal service COVID-19 requirements/protocols as outlined on this page by Illusions Hair Design, Inc (regardless of vaccination status).
Have you or any of your household members currently have or have had the following symptoms of COVID-19 WITHIN THE PAST 14 DAYS: Fever, Fatigue, Dry Cough, Difficulty Breathing, Loss of Taste/Smell.
Have you or anyone in your household been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 14 days, been knowingly exposed to anyone diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 14 days, or have a COVID-19 test result currently “pending”.
I agree to contact Illusions Hair Design if I begin to show symptoms of COVID-19 within 14 days after my appointment.
I understand that Illusions Hair Design, Inc., cannot be held liable for any exposure to the COVID-19 virus caused by misinformation on this form or the health history provided by each client.
I understand that should a COVID-19 outbreak occur at Illusions Hair Design, Inc., in accordance with the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries and Centers For Disease Control (CDC), the salon is required to share my personal information (name, phone, date of service) for contact tracing of COVID-19.
