COVID-19: RE-OPENING SALON PROTOCOLS***
Due to enhanced safety/sanitization protocols for salon/barber shops to re-open after the state mandated closure on March 16th, we have put the following required policies in place as part of our re-opening process. Protocols have evolved over the past few months, and are based on Washington State COVID-19 guidelines, as well as those from the the WA department of licensing. These are in place in order to provide the safest possible environment for our clients and staff when we open our doors (date still TBD!). We know that there are a lot of things on this list. PLEASE READ IT CAREFULLY. The following contains the most up to date information as of 5/22/20, and may change again prior to re-opening. *PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE NOT YET SCHEDULING APPOINTMENTS*
IF YOU ARE SICK:
If you are showing or feeling sick from ANY illness, please STAY HOME. When possible, please try to give as much notice in cancelling your appointment(s), but please know if you are displaying ANY symptoms, you will not be allowed entry, and will not be allowed to return until you are symptom free. Should you get sick/show symptoms of ANY illness while you are in the salon, you will be asked to leave immediately.
BY APPOINTMENT ONLY :
We are NOT accepting any "Walk-In" appointments at this time. NO ONE IS ALLOWED IN THE SALON WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT. ONLY existing clients WITH appointments will be allowed to enter the salon during business hours (for entry requirements, see below). If you have a scheduled appointment, you will NOT be allowed to bring a guest, including children, (unless they too have a scheduled appointment).
WE ARE NOT SCHEDULING APPOINTMENTS YET! We will have SPECIFIC guidelines for appointment requests... STAY TUNED!
Due to capacity restrictions, trying to keep your time in the salon limited, and in order to try to see as many clients as possible during our re-opening, the following services will NOT be allowed until further notice:
• NO BLOW DRYERS will be used in the salon as to reduce both the time spent in the salon, and to limit the air flow within the salon. This means you will not be getting a finished style, and we will NOT be scheduling "style only" appointments.
• To avoid extensive close contact, we will NOT be performing ANY facial hair removal services.
• We will NOT be performing STRAIGHTENING SERVICES, as they require the use of blow dryers
• We will NOT be performing FULL FOIL or FOIL+ services
• "Corrective Color" and "Balayage" services may be considered on a case-by-case basis beginning in Phase 3, and will require a non-refundable deposit prior to booking. (Deposit based on type of service(s) required.)
Upon re-open, Washington State Guidelines will restrict our capacity, altering our daily operations. Our lobby will NOT be used for extended waiting times before or after any appointment. Our lobby will remain CLOSED to those without appointments, be clear of ALL reading materials, and we will NOT be offering any refreshments. We will be open Monday - Friday, hours are still TBD. (Please note: NANCY will NOT be returning until the state progresses to STAGE 4 of re-opening, where those with weakened immune systems are suggested to return to work).
When you arrive for your scheduled appointment, we ask that you remain outside or in your vehicle. Text or call us to let us know you have arrived. We will call or send a text message to let you know when to come to the front door for your temperature check. DO NOT COME TO THE FRONT DOOR ASKING TO ENTER. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ENTER UNTIL WE CONTACT YOU VIA CALL/TEXT.
ALL clients will be required to have a member of our team take your temperature with our no-contact thermometer prior to entry. If you are running a fever (over 100.0°), you will NOT be allowed to enter. You will NOT be allowed to return until you are symptom free, and/or have given yourself ample quarantine from the risk of exposing others. Again, if you feel ill, STAY HOME. Immediately upon entry, ALL clients will be REQUIRED to wash their hands with soap & warm water for more than 20 seconds before their stylist takes them to a station for their service(s). We will provide hand sanitizers located throughout the salon, but HAND WASHING is REQUIRED upon entry, and is recommended when at all possible.
ALL clients (age 2+) MUST provide and wear their own facial protectant mask. We will NOT provide you a mask. (Please refer to the state regulations regarding the use of masks in public: HERE) NO ONE MAY ENTER THE SALON WITHOUT ONE. If you feel you are in a high-risk group, or cannot wear a mask at this time, we ask that you wait to schedule your appointment. We cannot be 6 feet or more from you while performing hair services, therefore Washington State guidelines (at this stage) REQUIRE EVERYONE in our business to wear a mask. NO EXCEPTIONS. Masks MUST be worn at all times (except at the shampoo bowl, see below). They should be comfortable and either simple toss-away or reusable cloth, and MUST be "loop ear" style. NO "bandana" or "wrap" full face style will be allowed. (Note: N95 masks are not mandatory for businesses unless a specific company requires their use, or if you work in a healthcare/hospital environment where possible exposure to the virus is much higher). Our staff will be wearing a variety of styles, based on comfort and personal protection.
COLOR CLIENTS: If you are getting a COLOR SERVICE, please know that color may get on your mask and it will stain, so toss-away ones might be a better option for you. We are not responsible/liable if color gets on your mask.
ALL children 2+ are REQUIRED to wear a mask during their haircut, and hold a TOWEL on their face while at the shampoo bowl. If you feel your child cannot adhere to this, PLEASE do not schedule an appointment for them at this time.
WHILE AT THE
Washington State Guidelines mandates that ALL clients at the shampoo bowl use a TOWEL to cover your eyes, nose, and mouth. THIS IS NON-NEGOTIABLE. This not only provides optimal safety for close contact exposure, but will also ensure that the mask you have brought remains DRY. THIS IS THE ONLY TIME YOUR MASK MAY BE REMOVED WHILE IN THE SALON.
If you are coming in for a haircut ONLY, and you would like to reduce close-contact exposure, we ask that you come into the salon with clean & conditioned hair. We will quickly wet your hair down at the shampoo bowl. WE WILL NOT BE PERFORMING DRY CUTS. ALL CLIENTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO HAVE HAIR RINSED OR WASHED PRIOR TO THEIR HAIRCUTS.
To reduce the handling of cash, ONLY CHECKS OR DEBIT/CREDIT CARDS will be accepted. When using a credit card, please know that no signature will be required for you purchase. You will not be asked to sign a receipt slip. For a truly "contactless" form of payment, we suggest using "VISA PAY" or "APPLE PAY" upon checkout. Please refer to your cell phone device for how to install and use these forms of payment.
When we re-open, we will ONLY be scheduling appointments THREE WEEKS AT A TIME. As licensed professionals, our team MUST adhere to any rules/regulations from the state. Because there are still too many unknowns that the state may decide to change or implement moving forward, we find that NOT scheduling more than three weeks at a time is the best decision for everyone. This may change once more phases of the state are allowed to open.
